Science and Math Learning Journey to Osaka, Japan 2024
During the 2024 June Holidays, a group of 35 students from the secondary 2 and 3 cohorts embarked on an overseas learning journey to Osaka, Japan, accompanied by five teachers from the Science and Mathematics department.
The aims of the trip were to provide valuable learning experience for the participants on science learning, cultural immersion and personal growth, through deepening awareness of global issues and trends on sustainable living and environmental conservation, and also appreciating concepts in science, mathematics, and engineering.
The students learnt of various knowledge concerning engineering aspects and sustainability issues through visits to the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge Museum, Osaka Gas Science Museum, Osaka City Sewerage Science Museum, Panasonic Museum and the National Institutions for Quantum Science & Technology.
When our students visited Akashikita High School, there were lively interactions with the students and staff. The BP students participated in science and math lessons with the local students, and were very impressed with the warm hospitality that we were received with.
