Student Council

The Student Council aims to develop Inspiring Leaders with a Heart to Serve.

It plays an important role in building school spirit and contributing to the BPian experience by planning and executing school-wide events such as the Secondary One Orientation Programme and Teachers’ Day Celebrations. As the bridge between the school and the student body, the Student Councillors facilitate dialogue sessions between the school leaders and students in order to create a positive teaching and learning environment for everyone. To engender a culture of care among the student body and empathy for the community at large, they also spearhead Student-Initiated Activities such as the Appreciation Week for our unsung heroes in school, as well as participate in community initiatives such as the Keat Hong Constituency Give and Take Quarterly Breakfast sessions. To instill a sense of school pride for our sports teams, they rally and lead the student body in cheers at inter-school competitions.

Last year, the Student Councillors sought ideas from the school population and worked on creating their own unique BP merchandise. Forming a project committee called the BP Merch, they tirelessly sourced for materials, created the designs, and carried out the sale of the merchandise which received a positive response from the school population. Through this project, they experienced entrepreneurship and developed enterprise skills.

As the highest echelons of student leaders, the Student Councilors go through a robust training and development programme to develop their public speaking and facilitation skills as well as to discover their strengths and develop their talents. Student Councillors are also specially selected to participate in national student leadership workshops and seminars to deepen their knowledge of and skills in student leadership.

These various platforms provide Student Councilors with opportunities to develop the relevant skills, knowledge and values to be effective contributors to the school and community.

Under the leadership of the President, Vice-president and the Executive Committee, our Student Councillors exemplify our school values and act as role models for the student body. We will keep forging ahead in unity to inspire, lead and serve!
